Working with

Kate Hill

Kate Hill and Victoria Station were iconic Australian retail brands specialising in handbags, travel goods and fashion accessories. Victoria Station, established in Melbourne in 1990, grew into a national retailer known for its quality luggage, leather goods and travel essentials. Alongside this, the Kate Hill label became a recognised name in women’s fashion accessories, offering handbags, wallets and everyday pieces that combined style with affordability. Together the brands built a strong presence across major shopping centres throughout Australia and were well-loved by a broad customer base

The work

Working at Kate Hill and Victoria Station gave me the opportunity to expand my creative skill set across both graphic and product design. My role covered a wide range of outputs including point-of-sale, outdoor signage, catalogues and visual merchandising.

The fast-paced retail environment meant every season brought new campaigns and product launches, allowing me to contribute across multiple channels and

customer touchpoints.

A highlight of my time there was spearheading the creative direction of handbag and accessories design. I developed original textile patterns from scratch and applied them across a variety of materials to test functionality and aesthetic impact. This hands-on approach to product design gave me valuable insight into how patterns, textures and finishes translate into commercial accessories. I also directed and edited photoshoots that showcased each seasonal collection, ensuring consistency across campaign imagery and in-store presentation.

Alongside product and campaign design, I played a key role in seasonal rebrands and collection rollouts, bringing a fresh look and feel to each launch. It was also during this time that I strengthened my skills in social media strategy and website user experience, developing digital content that complemented the in-store brand experience. This combination of product design, campaign work and digital strategy made Kate Hill and Victoria Station a pivotal role in shaping my career.
